ITINERARY

From Cairns in the north to Sydney in the south you’ll see all of what the Queensland Coast has to offer.

DAY 1 Cairns to Cape Tribulation
Meet your Contiki Crew, then head to Port Douglas, the celebrated beach resort town of the rich! Travel along the Coral Sea to Mossman Gorge for some free time to explore and into the Daintree National Park to Cape Tribulation.

DAY 2 Cape Tribulation
A full day to savor the Daintree National Park and enjoy the activities around Cape Tribulation.

DAY 3 Cape Tribulation to Cairns
Visit Tjapukai and Kuranda to appreciate the beauty of the Atherton Tablelands. Then it’s back to Cairns.

DAYS 4-5 Cairns
Two full days at leisure - maybe try white water rafting, visit the Great Barrier Reef and savor Cairns’ nightlife!

DAY 6 Cairns to Whitsundays
Pass via Tully, the wettest place in Australia, to Townsville and then on to Airlie Beach - the gateway to the 74 Whitsunday Islands. Head across to beautiful Long Island for the next 2 nights.

DAYS 7-8 Whitsundays
Two days at leisure on this tropical paradise island. Relax on the beach, enjoy the water sports, maybe a game of tennis and beach volleyball, or explore on a hike. There’s plenty to do at the resort.

DAY 9 Whitsundays to Capricorn Coast
Travel through the sugar cane fields via Mackay to the Capricorn Coast and into the heart of Australia’s beef industry to the garden city of Rockhampton, the gateway to the tropics.

DAY 10 Capricorn Coast to Fraser Island
Continuing south follow the coast to one of nature’s greatest wonders, Fraser Island.

A full day free to explore the world’s largest sand island known for its unusual fresh water lakes, the tropical rainforest and beautiful beaches.

DAY 12 Fraser Island to Farmstay
Back to the mainland travel to the Sunshine Coast to visit Noosa with free time for a swim and shopping. After lunch head along the fertile farming lands of the Darling Downs to the edge of Queensland’s Outback and a unique Aussie experience at a Farmstay.

DAY 13 Farmstay to Surfers Paradise
After a hearty breakfast travel to the modern city of Brisbane for some free time. Then it’s along the Gold Coast, Australia’s most popular holiday area, to Surfers Paradise.

A full day free to enjoy the famous beaches, try a mix of adventures and revel in the nightlife!

DAY 15 Surfers Paradise to Coffs Harbour
See Australian wildlife at Currumbin then into New South Wales to Byron Bay with plenty of time to relish this arty town, before continuing south to Coffs Harbour.

Travel along the scenic holiday coast to Sydney where, after crossing the Harbour Bridge, it’s time to say a final farewell as your tour ends after a brief city sightseeing tour. (B)
